Server has Excess Load by SPAMD program

I've been forced to kill the Spam (spam-daemon, spamd) programms running on the server as they apparently were stuck and eating excessive CPU cycles.

As of yet, there's no definitive fix for the problem. Suggestions such as removing the local .spamassassin file seem to help.
