Statcounter

Following www.blogger.com's recommendation, I picked the last site from their list of web counters, http://www.statcounter.com, and have been using it fairly successfully for adding a page views counter to the family of websites.

More details on how to use it will follow soon.

For now, I wanted to mention to use the "Block your Visit's" cookie option.

Many of the visits I was racking up were from my own access. When I went to block my IP's, I discovered the option on the Tools page to Create a blocking cookie. That means all future visits from the machine the cookie is created on won't be included. A bit of a hassle to work through all our machines on all the local domains but it should be worth it for more accurate statistics.
